Repairing an iPhone Screen Dubai | How easy is it?

Anyone who has broken the display of their iPhone will be annoyed twice: first by their clumsiness – and then by the price of a repair. Apple charges 151 AED (iPhone SE) and 361 AED (iPhone 13 Pro Max). You can also take your iPhone to Media Markt for repair, but the prices hardly differ: While replacing an iPhone 7 display costs 171 AED at Apple, Media Market wants 169 AED. However, an iPhone 7 display is available on eBay for just 25 AED. Apple also intends to sell spare parts in 2024 so customers can iPhone Repair Dubai. The original parts are likely to be significantly more expensive. Still, the fundamental question remains: How easy is it to replace the iPhone display yourself if you’re doing it for the first time? Here, we explain where it got tricky and the solution. In the smartphone repair guide, we summarize what you should generally bear in mind, for example, about warranties and spare parts.

iPhone Screen repair – the practical test

We start our self-experiment with an iPhone 7: Its display is very shattered, especially in the lower third (see picture above). Since the battery is so weak after years of use that it only lasts a few hours, we replace it immediately. Because once the iPhone is unscrewed, it only takes a few more steps. In theory, that’s how it is if you follow repair instructions like those from Fix it. We ordered a complete iPhone 7 display in advance, which needs the home button and an iPhone 7 battery. A suitable tool set also ended up in the shopping cart. However, it contained only some of what we ultimately needed for the iPhone repair.

Disassemble iPhone display

What sounds like the easiest part of the repair took a lot of time in our practical test: It took several attempts to remove the shattered display from the iPhone. The suction cup in the toolset is supposed to help you remove the display: loosen two small screws at the bottom of the iPhone, then press the suction cup firmly onto the display and pull it up. The suction cup didn’t hold on to our shattered display. Does adhesive tape on the display make the surface so smooth that the suction cup holds? Not in our case. We also needed to improve by creating a handle from duct tape on the display. The recommendation to stick the suction cup directly onto the display also falls into the “would have been nice if” category. The display didn’t move a millimetre upwards at the edge. We finally managed it with a somewhat risky manoeuvre: carefully slide a razor blade from above between the display and the casing and gently pry it open. Finally, the display came off. By the way, the razor blade was just an accidental accomplice; it is not part of the tool kit for iPhone repair.

Not without my home button

Incidentally, iPhone Screen Repair Dubai come without a home button. So we must remove it from the old display and install it in the new one. This was one of the most nerve-wracking moments in the practical test: The home button’s connection is minimal and must be removed carefully.

In addition, the home button was very firmly glued in our test. With a little nail polish remover, the glue could be loosened and the home button removed without damage. To be better prepared, it is best to have pure alcohol (more than 90 per cent) on hand to dissolve glue when repairing the iPhone. But that only sometimes helped us avoid a jam in the practical test.
